CB&I Partners with WCWB and SPSCC to Provide In-Demand Courses for Business Professionals

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many small businesses still face significant challenges and will need to focus on rebuilding and planning for future stability and growth. To provide resources to small businesses, our Center for Business & Innovation partnered with the Washington Center for Women in Business (WCWB) and South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) to provide in-demand courses.

These courses are funded through a grant from the Small Business Administration Office of Women’s Business Ownership OWBO COVID 19 CARES Act. If you are interested in becoming an entrepreneur or own a small business that has been affected by COVID-19, you qualify to attend these courses at no cost!

QuickBooks for Small Business and Self Employed Professionals  

Do you need to make your bookkeeping smoother and faster? QuickBooks Accounting is one of the most popular accounting programs used by small business and self-employed professionals. This introductory course will enable participants to become productive and efficient in using QuickBooks software to manage their transactions and finances.

Participants will quickly gain skills in setting up a new company and chart of accounts; recording transactions with customers, vendors and employees; managing lists; running reports and customizing them; changing forms and generating letters. *This class utilizes the desktop version of Quickbooks

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Start QuickBooks Pro Accounting
  • Identify parts of the screen
  • Set up QuickBooks
  • Work with lists
  • Enter sales and invoices
  • Customize forms
  • Enter payments, deposits, paying bills
  • Work with bank accounts
  • Analyze financial data
  • Track and pay sales tax
  • Create payroll

PREREQUISITES: Familiarity with the computer and basic accounting principles

This class is for all solopreneurs and small business owners who would like to learn Excel basics to create budgets, income and expense tracking sheets, client lists and so much more. Join an expert instructor as they guide you through the basics to create your own worksheets that will help you make crucial management decisions.
