Leadership and Supervision in Early Childhood Education

This class is intended for childcare program leaders who supervise (or plan to supervise) staff members. Many early childhood leaders never planned to supervise adults and find that it comes with its own set of challenges and requires a new set of skills. This session will cover some key supervision principles and explore how to make responsibilities clear to staff members, give them freedom while setting boundaries, and hold them accountable in a way that affirms their value and appreciates their strengths. Come prepared to discuss supervision issues with other people who work in early childhood.
