Welcome “Back” Aslan Meade
Business & Investor Relations Manager

Aslan Meade, previously the EDC’s Community and Rural Development Manager, has joined the team as our Business & Investor Relations Manager. Aslan will be developing and implementing an investor relationship program, ensuring EDC investors understand their value in building a strong and vibrant regional economy. Aslan is committed to ensuring the Economic Development Council maintains strong relationships within our local community. Aslan’s network of business connections is impressive, built through his work with SideWalk, Sustainable South Sound, and the Buy Local Program, as well as managing local campaigns.

 Welcome Karissa Benjamin

Marketing and Events Manager

Karissa Benjamin is the EDC’s new Marketing and Events Manager. A graduate of Washington StateUniversity’s Sport Management program, she hails most recently from Tacoma Community College as the Athletics Department assistant. Her role there, like her degree, focused heavily on marketing, outreach, and event planning. Prior to that, Karissa was the events coordinator for the Lacey South Sound Chamber. In addition to being point-person for all Economic Development Council events, both big and small, Karissa will be working closely with EDC team members and volunteers across the board to create and support promotional campaigns, materials, and events.
