New Training for Childcare Providers Aims to Create Stronger Childcare Businesses

On March 6, the Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) Center for Business & Innovation, the Childcare Action Council and the Minority Business Development Agency kicked off a four-part series for childcare providers located anywhere in the State of Washington. Organizers designed this series to provide timely and relevant training to equip childcare providers to become stronger and more resilient as demand for childcare grows during the Pandemic.
Remaining classes will focus on marketing, L&I compliance and leadership training. Participants may take one class or all four; there are no restrictions. The time participants spend in these classes qualify for STARS hours annual In-Service training requirements for the Department of Children, Youth and Families. These classes are grant-funded so there is no cost to attend.
