Finally, Angel Mason Broadus will cover marketing. This presentation will include some helpful tips for small business owners who aren’t sure where to start. We will outline techniques to successfully launch and execute a marketing strategy for your small business. Angel will cover: Developing and SEO Friendly website, Google’s Marketing for Small Businesses, Telling Your Brand’s Story, Social Media Marketing, and Invest in Data / Analytics.

Presenters Jeff Straw is a branding strategist, photographer, and musician. He helps music artists and businesses stand out from all the noise in the market through creative, innovative, and bold-looking content! Jeff works with clients to help you understand your core values, create your brand identity system, shoot amazing-looking photo and video content, and design your brand experience! He offers a range of brand consulting services for music artists and small businesses, leveraging his 25+ year career in the music industry.

Nicole Hetz, JD, brings a diverse legal perspective to the Rational Unicorn team. Originally from Argentina, Nicole moved to Portland, Oregon with her wife 6 years ago. Nicole holds two law degrees, one in Spanish (Argentina) and another one in the United States, which she utilizes to help the Spanish members of the community who feel the legal disparity in this country. She is a Board Member for Oregon Pride in Business Chamber of Commerce in Oregon. As a board member, Nicole contributes her diverse point of view and provides rational solutions to the board. She dedicates her time to work with community-based businesses and helps them develop a strategy for their growth. Her goal is to empower the queer community to build and feel confident about their businesses.

Angel Mason Broadus is the President & Founder of the fabulous, do-gooding, creative and colorful nonprofit marketing and branding agency, Puzzle Pieces Marketing. Angel founded the agency in 2009 and co-owns and operates it with her wife Kristine. Focusing on social good and providing services that benefit their community, the marketing agency works with nonprofits and mission-driven businesses to develop strategies that inspire action.

In the spirit of giving back, Angel also serves the President of the Board of Directors and DEI Committee Chair for North County Philanthropy Council, as a member of the Board of Directors for Point Loma Nazarene’s Marketing Advisory Board; and is a member of United Way of San Diego County’s Women United Steering Committee and Marketing Committee, and Moonlight Cultural Foundation DEI committee.
