Day Camp: Two Day 3D Design and Pewter Casting
July 26, 2021 @ 10:00 am - July 27, 2021 @ 4:00 pm
Students will design and laser cut a billet mold, and pour their own 1/2 oz. pewter fantasy coin. We will start with the design of the coin and mold parts in a vector editing program. Students will then use the laser cutter to engrave their design in MDF and cut out the parts. We will then stack the mold together and pour in molten pewter to make the coin. Finally we will use the band saw and belt sander to remove the button and finish the coins.
IMPORTANT: All students are required to participate in the Zoom-based Virtual Design Class on June 26th, 10am -12pm to be able to attend the in-person casting session on the 27th.
