In this two-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of getting started with opening your food-related business. Topics on which will be discussed are:

– Developing a menu
– Writing a business plan
– Predicting sales
– Preparing a cashflow projection
– Renting space and acquiring equipment
– Making what you will be doing special to attract customers

The clear benefit of taking this workshop will be that you’ll be better equipped to present your vision to yourself and others, particularly lenders to finance your business and landlords who will rent space to you.

Presenter
This workshop is presented by Shawn O’Donnell, a SCORE Volunteer. Shawn is the owner of Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill and Irish Pubs. Shawn owned his first restaurant in 1982. Shawn is active daily serving as the general manager of the company’s South Everett location. This family-run business also operates two “Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill and Irish Pubs” in Seattle, another in Spokane and recently its fifth location in Skagit County. He will be happy to share with you what he has learned and what you need to get started in this challenging but rewarding business.
