The Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) will host a ThINk pitch on Thursday, February 13, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Center for Business & Innovation, 4220 6th Avenue SE, Lacey.

Two locally-owned businesses who are seeking capital — one to start up and one scale-up — will pitch to Thurston Investment Network (ThINk) Members. ThINk is a Network of Thurston-area residents interested in investing in local businesses.

The first 15 minutes of the pitch session will be a short training for those interested in learning more about ThINk.  After the training, attendees will have the option to sign the ThINk Membership Agreement and join the Network. Those who join may stay to hear the pitch. There is no fee to join ThINk and no obligation to invest.

Local investment networks are a powerful tool for our regional economy. Many folks in Thurston County have investments of one sort or another from stocks, to bonds, mutual funds, retirement funds and more. Almost all of this investment capital is placed in businesses outside our region. Beyond buying local, investing locally can capture more of the wealth of our community and keeps money local where it can recirculate, multiply and impact a greater number of the people who live here.
