Lacey MakerSpace Seeks Community Support After Significant Loss
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 24, 2024
On Thursday, September 19, the Lacey MakerSpace experienced a devastating break-in, resulting in the theft of approximately $20,000 worth of essential equipment. This theft has created a significant disruption to our services and our ability to support the local community.
This is an active investigation with the Lacey Police Department. We are distributing photos of the persons of interest and encourage anyone with information to please contact the Lacey Police Department or Saint Martin’s University Office of Public Safety (information can be found below).
We are asking for the community’s support in light of this unfortunate event. Any contribution, big or small, will help us replace the stolen equipment, further increase security, and ensure we can continue serving local makers, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
“We may be shaken, but we remain resilient. The words of support we’ve received from the community have been uplifting, and we are truly grateful to everyone who has offered to donate to help us get back on our feet,” said Michelle Pope, Director of Lacey MakerSpace.
People can support us by donating either equipment or monetary gifts. To donate, please contact Lacey MakerSpace Director Michelle Pope at [email protected] or visit our donate page at www.laceymakerspace.org/donate.
