The Washington Center for Women in Business (WCWB) is the recipient of a U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO) COVID 19 Grant. The grant was made available to all Women’s Business Centers in the United States through the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the CARES Act. Women’s centers were required to submit a creative and proactive proposal that demonstrated a transformative way to positively impact the economic disruption in order to receive the grant funding.

“We are excited for the opportunity to help support COVID-19 impacted businesses with this grant and strengthen the community and become more resilient,” said Sean Moore WCWB Program Director. The initial funding for the grant will be used to support businesses by increasing the free business coaching capacity of the WCWB and adding funding to our ScaleUp Consulting program.  The increase in free business coaching will be centered around accounting and helping organizations build business resilience through stronger accounting and financial practices. The ScaleUp Consulting program was designed to provide direct technical assistance to organizations.  This direct technical assistance will primarily be in the form of website building and the set-up of accounting systems. ScaleUp Consulting contracts with local businesses and individuals to provide these services to the businesses in need. Businesses interested in ScaleUp Consulting services can fill out an application at wcwb.org. Free coaching sessions can be scheduled by contacting Robin at [email protected].

ScaleUp is a comprehensive 3-part training series designed for businesses that want greater profitability and growth. Take one course, take two, or better yet, take them all!
